Special Interest Groups
Special Interest Groups provide opportunities for private discussions among peers on topics of mutual interest. Each group meeting is jointly moderated by a CIO Council member and a senior member of the Novarica team.
About the Novarica CouncilThe Novarica Insurance Technology Research Council is a free, moderated knowledge-sharing community of nearly 400 insurer CIOs and senior technology executives. The Council provides members with insights on issues of interest in a way that promotes knowledge sharing while preserving privacy. The Council is strictly private and accepts no sponsorship from vendors. Event attendees are limited to members and the Novarica team.
Member ModeratorsMeetings are jointly moderated by a Novarica VP and a member. Member moderators at the 2016 Annual Novarica Council Meeting included executives from Builders Mutual (WC), Hanover (commercial), Hiscox (specialty), New York Life (life insurance) Principal Financial (annuities), Travelers (personal), and SunLife (group).
Special Interest Group MeetingsSpecial Interest Group (SIG) meetings are an opportunity for small groups of Council members with common interests to meet for informal networking and to discuss relevant Novarica research.
The meetings provide an opportunity to discuss pressing business and technology issues and trends related to attendees’ specific business lines, and learn how other technology leaders are addressing them.
Pre-Meeting SurveyEach meeting is proceeded by a survey of attendees on key topics, the results of which are presented (anonymously) for discussion.
Vendor InformationNovarica also occasionally presents non-confidential information about relevant vendors, and provides an opportunity for Council members to share their experiences. Since there are no vendor attendees and no sponsors, participants can speak freely about their experiences.
